John WardleHostBradHostJakeHostAll right.
So we'll do the standard rundown.
Even after inflation data came in soft, which I'll talk about in just a second, and oil is at $90 a barrel as of today, that literally means fucking nothing because diesel is at $224 a barrel.
These numbers are all made up.
We're never going to recover from this.
Put your head between
goodbye.
Yeah, they estimated inflation to come in at three point seven and it came in at three point four.
As we know, that number is still greater than two.
However, also, they started a new method for how to how to calculate inflation for the first time in the decades that they've been doing it.
They managed to create a new method which made inflation seem less than what it would have been had it been done on the old method.
For reference, July's inflation data, had it been put into this new method, would have been about three basis points lower.
So given that math, we're at the 3.7, just like they said, regardless if they use this new formula or not.
Inflation is still really not good.
Nearly double what it should be.
Right.
And so as you saw, the Dow responded to that because they realized that it's like it's bullshit.
The numbers are bullshit.
It spiked a little bit.
And then once they realized, oh, all the numbers are the same.
All right.
