John LyonsHost
Adam Hillspeaker_10Okay, so w- what I was saying in the dark before that you might not have heard was, and then we'll get into this after getting to 4:00, come Tuesday when the nor'easter is supposed to be finishing up, what do you think is going to be the bigger story: uh, a, a declining or not well playing Drake May, a, a Red Sox team that can't get its injuries together and there are gonna be people missing, or the nor'easter itself? What do you think is going to be the bigger story of the three?

And I also, I don't know about you, I got a sneaky suspicion we'll get to later in the show that maybe people are gonna be happier with Drake May come Tuesday than they are today.
See, I'm gonna say if, if there's an issue with Drake May, and let's just say the Patriots win it and they go to two and one, okay? But it's the defense that does it all over again, and we'll get further into this.
We'll hear from Drake May and their comments as well as Mike Vrabel from earlier this week leading into this Jacksonville game.
It would almost be like, "Hey, here's the distraction nobody saw coming this season," right? Nobody saw that...
Okay, you could even, you could probably even argue that, okay, there's a possibility that A.J. Brown could get hurt, right? Because that was some of the people who were thinking like, "Look, would you have paid that much money for a guy who's injury prone? Well, he's injured." So that was a real possibility in the conversation, right? But then without getting deep into it, unless you were under a rock, Mike Vrabel's name was gonna be brought up again and, and you felt like that could have been brought up as well.

Like, we knew there would be some ups and downs, especially with the new schedule, but I think we expected more than two offensive touchdowns in two games.

[laughs] I think a lot of us expected a lot more than that, especially against that Steelers defense as well.

Like, if this time last year the Patriots were one and one, they had beaten the Miami Dolphins, they had lost a bad game to the Raiders, not that different of a spot, but again, the expectations are so much different now.
Well, the, the other thing, and I think that we've, we n- I think we here in New England know more than the rest of the country does, is that this is really Drake May's second full season, right? You almost kind of forget that, you know, Jacoby Brissett's in there, and then there's the whole-
I mean, yeah, it, it requires to remember Jerod Mayo as the head coach, but I, I, I, I was wondering, like, look, this is the second year, and this is a f- the defenses have a full year of tape to look at to see what Drake May's tendencies are.
That's why in that very end of the Seattle game, I know we hadn't had a chance, me and you, to talk about it, but it almost, like Seattle played masterclass in that final play.
There's your Linus blanket," right? Then okay, "Hey, you made your mistake across the middle.
That's where your interceptions had come fr- one of your last interception had come from," but Pop Douglas is wide open.
And then you go to what's known as your secondary blanket in Mack Hollins, and that's where the pickoff comes from.
