So infatuation may not be the fair word to use.

Carson Bench, A.J. Ewing, Nolan McClain, Christian Scott, Zach Thornton, even the kid Tong, Jonah Tong.

Look at all these guys, okay? Who is the right – is Alex Cora the right guy to be managing

these guys? Why wouldn't he?

Well, I mean – I think Andy Green is the guy that can relate to these guys.

And, you know, the Cubs weren't terrible under him and they were kind of rebuilding sort of those years he was there.

So it makes a lot of sense to me Yeah, and if you're right on the Alex Cora-David Stearns relationship, then Cora's not going to be a fit there.

Yeah, and of course, continue to hear more about Alex Cora possibly a fit with Philadelphia, if in fact the Phillies don't make a deep run into October.

You know, I've had folks with other teams say to me, hey, if Don Mattingly takes you to the NLCS, and Don Mattingly has come out and said that That, you know, he wants to return his manager for next year.

In that case, you know, they're asking rhetorically, can you really change managers at that point? And I mean, if the Phillies go on and win the World Series, that, of course, would probably end the conversation.

But it's been 38 years, 37 years since then.

So I talked to former players, current players, scouts, front office executives.

I thought that Joe Espada, the only Puerto Rican manager left in baseball after Alex Cora's firing.

I don't really think it affects much, unfortunately.

The only thing that is really hanging in the balance at all is what is the future of Don Mattingly, who I think it was known before any story came out about Alex Cora that he was going to be a one-and-done manager barring a World Series championship or birth, really.

So the Phillies last night, they reminded me of every single complaint that not only I have, but what fans have.

And when I talk to people on postcast, especially, and what you guys say in the comments here, it reminded me of every single complaint that people have regarding the Phillies.

But this is a team that is.

Definitely not at its peak right now, and if they end up missing the postseason, we're going to be talking, obviously, big questions here about Don Mattingly's future, which has already seemed relatively murky, especially with Alex Cora looming out there, and even Philadelphia offering the job to Cora before Mattingly even took it, so...

There's a ton of questions here in Philly.

At the end of the day, I do see them like with their talent getting in, but they are vulnerable right now.

Hey, we're gonna do th- hey, we're gonna do this.

We're gonna bring in Alex Cora.

We're gonna do what the Giants did," which I've been screaming for months now.

Did you think the Giants looked like a different team on Sunday? Do you think the Giants are headed in the right direction? Do you think the Giants are in good hands with, with Harbaugh? Well, the Maras, to their credit, Chris Mara in particular, you know, going down to see Harbaugh, and all the courting that the Giants did to get Harbaugh here, that's what the Mets need to do with Alex Cora, and that's what Steve Cohen needs to do.

So that's what I'm talking about when I mean, like, go get Scoob or go get Cora Be extra motivated to erase this season and what is now being defined by these three games and what's happening to where an opposing player got a curtain call for tying the game in the ninth inning in a season that you didn't make it to the postseason.

That's what I mean by extra motivation.

I think if you're a New York guy, or not a New York guy, I should say, you're not coming to New York, and so something like this is not gonna sway you from not coming here.

But there's so many different factors.

And Kevin Long, they will just continue to die on the Kevin Long sword.

And I think that Mattingly will be out of here for Alex Cora, barring something unforeseen.
