Vikings injuries, trades, hopes

Not only are the Vikings one of the three undefeated NFL teams, they just came off a bye weekend, they're getting healthier, and the trade deadline is coming up, and they get to play a bad Colts team that just lost its number one corner to an injury.

It's amazing how many things are trending in the right direction.

Alec, is all this optimism justified? Going forward.

Well, you didn't even mention the NFC.

I mean, you got the Los Angeles Rams where Devontae Adams is out six to ten weeks.

They lost two defensive linemen.

The NFC East is an absolute disaster right now among the Cowboys, the Eagles, the Commanders, and the Giants.

Maybe we'll have some life with J.J. McCarthy, a quarterback.

We'll see.

So...

Yeah, I think there is a lot of, you know, justified optimism, Jim.

Specifically because the defense is really healthy.

That's been the strength of the team.

Special teams has been incredibly reliable.

I think those are two sustainable things with this team.

And then the ceiling is just going to be determined by how much can the offense overcome.

And we're going to find out a lot over the next month.

I mean, November, the Vikings play five games in November.

Two against the Bills and the 49ers.

They play the Lions.

They play the Packers again.

So this next month plus is going to tell us probably about as much as we need to know about how much optimism should be required, I would say.

It seems like, yeah, it just seems like everything is lining up.

I mean, Jordan Mason coming back, I think that's big.

And there is nobody out there in the NFC.
