Lethal Weapon

Mm-hmm.

And so the bad guys are coming to get the liver, and it's a, it's a car chase movie, an action movie where, uh, Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson play wacky, you know, buddy Lethal Weapon kind of bad, you know, b- buddy guys who are trying to get this liver to the hospital, and there are car crashes and fight scenes and explosions and guns and violence, and it's all about getting that liver to the little girl, and it's all about redemption for this former soldier, alcoholic who is trying to, uh, you know, uh, change his life.

Uh, this is a terrible movie.

It's directed by Scott Waugh.

They wrote a script together that John Carpenter was going to direct.

And that ended up falling apart.

Shane Black went on to write Lethal Weapon and became maybe the most successful screenwriter who's ever lived as a result.

And So they came to Fred Decker and they were like, so, yeah, so he went on and he was like, OK, well, my buddy Shane is busy, so I'm going to go.

So we were like, "Okay, we're millennials.

Like, what movies did we love as kids that are both heartfelt and cool, and even a little heady, but spectacle and exciting and broad in a way that, like, is just inclusive and people love?" And it was like Die Hard, Speed, Lethal Weapon.

Like, you know, you know the classic-

What's his name? Dick Donner, who did Lethal Weapon and Goonies.

And his wife.

They optioned the movie, but they wanted to make it into a comedy series.

So I met every s- Hollywood celebrity.

I mean, the stories I could tell you from being on Lethal Weapon, from being the Diet Coke commercial, all the stuff that went around.

But I'm a kid from Cape Co- Massachusetts, a little town outside of Massachusetts, like any of these guys from little towns.

But when you go to LA, you know, I'm a movie buff, and I'm an also a rock, rock and roll kinda guy.

But I'll give that an A. That's a really fun film to watch.

Lethal Weapon, another really fun film to watch.

I'll give it a B+.

I mean, I love action films, and this is a really good one, obviously with Mel Gibson, directed by Richard Donner.

If you ever remember Lethal Weapon, right? You had Mel Gibson.

Remember him telling Danny Glover that he had a special bullet in his pocket because he was planning on doing self-harm? That's a plan.
