All right, at safety, AJ Halsey 99%, Cam Bynum 100%.
R
120:09Ricky RoderickHOST
Both of them finished with seven tackles, though Bynums were all solo and Bynum, excuse me, and Halsey four solo, three assisted.
R
120:19Ricky RoderickHOST
Halsey played 49% deep, which was much more than Nick Cross last year.
R
120:24Ricky RoderickHOST
We talked about the concern with Cam Bynum having to wear the green dot.
R
120:29Ricky RoderickHOST
He typically played a lot more deep last year.
R
120:31Ricky RoderickHOST
He only played 52% deep in this game because probably they had to line him that way for him to call the plays and the signals with the green dot.

But, Jake, Lou Anarumo – we're doing this right now, the live stream on Tuesday night, right? Lou Anarumo said – I think it was today, right, that they weren't even lined up correctly because Cam Bynum was the green dot, which is the new thing, right? Green dot, green dot, green dot.

... you're in trouble.
C
34:03Charles ArbuckleGUEST
But from a player perspective, how do you make plays? How do you get Sauce Gardner involved? How do you get Mooney, uh, Charvarius Ward? How do you get Cam Bynum going? Because they have some really good players on that defense, and I know they're gonna make some plays, but how do you get them to do it and then actually put you in a position where you're up by a touchdown over Kansas City instead of behind by two? Those are the things that I, I look at and I say, "Yeah, they can play from behind," but now you have to actually do it and show it wasn't just something that you saw in training camp.
C

I don't want to say like a fuss about it, but they were really talking about like the Cameron Bynum communication and a green dot aspect of that.
Z
6:38Zach HicksHOST
When I kind of went through the quotes, it didn't seem like that was something that Lou was singling out.
Z
6:42Zach HicksHOST
It was more so like what a question was being asked, but how did you kind of take that comment from Anna Rumo?

So
Z

that's more of the issue, I think, in my opinion.
Z
8:24Zach HicksHOST
But we'll see if the communication issues persist going forward, because if they do, then you probably do have to look harder at the Cameron Bynum green dot aspect.

Now, asked about the communication on defense pre-snap, Steichen admitted that there were issues, and that being the green dot guy is a new role for Cam Bynum, but he didn't give any indication that a change was going to come there.
S
10:51Scott RymanHOST
He did say that these are things they have to work on in practice this week, and he's confident that they'll get better with the defensive communication.
S

Steichen was then asked how you move forward from here without crushing the player's spirits while also making it clear how unacceptable the play was.
