See, I've been thinking about this game a little bit in a different way, of it coming down to the shot plays.

Because when I look at the secondary, Josh Metellus, I assume we'll see Theo Jackson back there.

Harrison Smith, I assume, is gonna be in the 15 to 25 play range, somewhere in there.

That Jordan Love has an uncanny ability to not get sacked, and also can throw the ball 40 yards down the field with a defensive tackle who's 6'5" running right at him, and he'll just throw a fadeaway jumper, and he can get it to these guys.

just the active ones, right? And at 4.1%, there are so many safeties that get paid more than him.

So, Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, Antoine Winfield, Kirby Joseph, Jesse Bates, Buda Baker, Xavier McKinney, Trevin Morig, that's a strange one, Javon Holland, okay? Cam Bynum, Grant Delpit, Amani Hooker, Talanoa Hufunga, Quentin Lake, Brian Cook, Minka Fitzpatrick, Kobe Bryant, Julian Love, Josh Metellus, and then Harrison Smith.

Like, There's no reason to freak out about this.

He's getting paid as much as Josh Metellus and Julian Love and Cameron Curl.

Like, okay.

And he's going to have a bigger impact than Metellus and Curl.

In addition to him playing well and still being able to play as a single high safety, cover two safety, certainly as a quarter safety or as a blitzer in the box, whatever, doing Harrison Smith stuff.

In addition to being able to do all of that, the fact that he can play up top and the fact that he can still play up top while aligned at the line of scrimmage somehow is Christ.

You're seeing more of the man match style coverages, and you're seeing...

Guys like Josh Metellus, Harrison Smith line up on the line of scrimmage and bail out.

And you're able to do that because they're so intelligent and they're great communicators on the back end.

You don't get busted coverages.

You saw that in the preseason.

And it's very funny that Josh Metellus was calling those plays when it happened.

But it's preseason.

You can't really read anything into it.

So yeah, they're starting Theo Jackson.

Metellus is more of like a nickel hybrid weapon.

He gets you some things in the pass game, but he's not super good in pass

But both you guys know Harrison Smith inside and out, man.

I mean, you know, Joshua Metellus and Theo Jackson and Miami rookie Jacoby Thomas, this Jay Ward from LSU has gotten himself real good too over the last couple of years.

But when it comes to the communication of the Flores defense, it's multi-layered.

You got Blake Cashman as the green dot as an inside linebacker.

And that's going to go such a long way because whenever you think about it, look at this Minnesota defense.

If Jamal Adams had stayed healthy, you would have a defense of Kyle Van Noy, Jamal Adams, Harrison Smith, Josh Metellus, Byron Murphy, James Pierre, Isaiah Rogers.

Dallas Turner, Andrew Van Ginkle, that defense would have been so stacked.

But even without Jamal Adams there, we still have a really stacked defense because now we got Harry back.
