Bitcoin is holding firm even as AI fears, rising oil prices, and broader market weakness put pressure on risk assets. **In this episode of Token Narratives**, Graham Stone, David Sencil, and Alex…
Can we start with a question related to that, which is what happened with this Black Monday thing? Where did that start? Why did everyone think it was going to happen? And then the obvious outcome, since everyone thought it was going to happen, it didn't.
Well, everybody in the AI trade has been so heated and people have been saying the word bubble for two years at this point.
And so everyone expects that this thing is going to explode, right? You had the whole, what is it, the CDS credit or CDF credit default swaps or something with like some of these big, what was it? Coreweave, right? Coreweave, Coreweave, right? And there was basically a coin flip on whether this thing is solvent five years from now.
Suddenly, over the weekend, last weekend, perhaps I wasn't paying close attention, Friday, and over the weekend, this Black Monday thing crescendoed, and it's all I could see on
And so it was an obvious fade, to me at least, when everyone was calling for this Black Swan event.
And specifically on this day that it didn't materialize is no surprise to anyone.
Anyway, I just thought it was worth noting and I'm not particularly conspiratorial minded, but it's just a weird, at the very least, a weird coinkydink that this thing kind of got spun up whole cloth out of whatever, whole cloth, and then nothing happened.
I think it stemmed from basically a meme that the Black Monday happened October 19th, 1987, right? So this would have been like the 39th anniversary.
There was some news about whore moves and the president tweeting, which causes the usual panic.
So it's going to be, are we heading for a Black Monday? That's pretty much the entire thesis behind it.
