Away from options, the broader market is splitting.

Privacy coins Monero and Zcash, along with Hyperliquid's Hype token, were holding up well while the Bitcoin, Ether, and other majors and some smaller coins wilted.

DeFi tokens are also under pressure.

Standard Chartered warned that weakness may persist and a new base may form only after details of the hack emerge and exchanges and protocols unfreeze the coins involved.

Zcash and the Responsibility to Stop Funding.

It's a fascinating debate about institutional stewardship, actually.

Zcash co-founder Sean Bowie has proposed ending the automatic funding stream to Zcash Community Giants, which is a program that supports the development within the ecosystem.

The program currently receives 8% of newly issued Zcash listing through the network's block subsidiary.

So we'll see if Bitcoin can kind of find support as the key bellwether cryptocurrency name and maybe give some life and maybe confirm that this is truly potentially turning into a new stage two uptrend here in the next six to eight months.

Taking a look and moving on from this to Zcash, the relative strength leader and standout within the crypto space, along with BeHype slash Hyperliquid, CoinHype, which we'll take a look at after this one.

But one quick note I want to make here because I think this is key as this has been showing so much relative strength and relative outperformance to Bitcoin.

Zcash is different from Bitcoin in that it has both private transactions and AI reinforced blockchain and also two different types of ledger structures.

which is essentially a transparent public ledger and a shielded ledger where it creates a dual blind shielded transaction that hides both the sender and recipient while also hiding their wallet identifiers and the cryptocurrency amount.

So that's very significant, whereas all Bitcoin transactions are public, even if there is no PII, you know, personal identifying information on that public blockchain slash ledger.

I think privacy is going to be the new, if you want, in my view, and this is what I'm tasking the investment professionals at Maelstrom to sort of figure out, I think that the standout shitcoin or, you know, few shitcoins of 2026 to 2028 will be related in some way, shape or form to privacy.

We already saw the, you know, amazing move of Zcash over the last few months.

Yes, it's down 50% from the 780 high, but I think, again, my goal is, you know, my mental model is 10 to 20% the value of the Bitcoin.

That's what Zcash ends up.

So much higher than where it is today.

But, you know, taking away Zcash, what is the token project or protocol that's going to utilize some privacy technology, probably something related to ZKs or knowledge proofs, to do something, whether that's quantum resistance, you know, the AI overloaders can't de-anonymize their data or, you know, see what they're doing, whatever it is, right? These are the things that we're blatantly afraid of.

of what bad things that could happen with this proliferation of big tech, big government.

What first got you excited about blockchains? Think about it.

So they can kind of, without actually blocking an address, you can earmark it or tag addresses.

The smart thing for these guys to do would be to continue to wash it, to continue to rinse it through... mixing sites or converting through privacy coins like Monero or Zcash, they could certainly continue to take that money out.

But yeah, they got away with theoretically about $4 billion worth.

And I think the lesson here is a lot of it is going to be blocked.
