Nick Searcy on his film "Reagan," being Conservative in Hollywood, and Fighting Back Against Cultural Marxism

Oh, amen.

In fact, I was in New York when the week that Zohra Mamdani won the election last year, and I was at a bar.

I was on a date, actually.

First date was terrible.

Bad date.

But all these young people, millennials and Gen Z, were packed.

It was crowded.

And I turned around, and I just started asking questions like, hey, did you guys vote today? And this girl, I'll never forget, hold my die cut, pretended to mind.

She's like, yeah.

And I go, oh, like, Can I ask who you voted for? She goes, why? And I go, well, I'm just...

I'm curious.

She goes, why do you want to know who you voted for? And, like, there's a group of them.

Like, why do you know who we voted for? And I was like, I'm just asking because I'm an invested party.

Yeah.

And the guy next to her goes...

Mom Donnie.

Okay.

We voted for Mom Donnie.

And I go, oh, I go, interesting.

I go, so what is it about socialism that you like? And why do you vote for socialist candidate? And she goes to me, she goes, why don't you like socialism? You're out right now being social, aren't you? So you're a socialist too.

If only that were the definition.

Nick, I was like, what? No, ma'am, sir.

No, you cannot actually think that's what socialism is.

And I was like, you're kidding, right? She's like, yeah, like what? Like, this is social.

We're all social.
