Union Township trustees in Clermont County are giving the green light for a new Costco to be built in the Eastgate area, right at the corner of Eicholz Road and Ivy Point Boulevard.

Costco made the pitch back in the summer for a 166,000 square foot warehouse, plus a fuel station with 30 pumps and nearly 900 parking spaces.

Here's what Costco told commissioners it'll look like when the sun hits it just right.

The store's application to township leaders said that demolition would start next year, and construction would begin in 2028.

That has not been consistently open for that long, and I don't think that it's always been in that spot.

In a post on Instagram, the Bay Horse Cafe says it's going to close this Sunday, October 18th.

That statement gives thanks to the landlord, the local business owners, and the patrons for letting the current owner live their dream of owning a bar downtown for the last three years.

It goes on to ask people to treat the new owners with the same respect and love, and teases a new project in the coming weeks.

Giving a half-million-dollar helping hand, the YWCA Greater Cincinnati and the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office have been awarded a $500,000 federal grant to expand services for crime victims, particularly survivors of domestic violence.

A key part of the initiative is a new victims of crime service navigator employed by YWCA and based within the prosecutor's office, helping victims connect with community resources and ongoing support.

It's all designed to help survivors navigate the legal system and manage the aftermath of crime.

Next week is the Week Without Violence, part of a national campaign focused this year on young people and ending gender-based violence.

And also a programming note, YWCA president and CEO Raquel Howard Smith gonna be my guest here on The Working Lunch October 30th.

It's an entrepreneurship program for military and veteran-connected founders, and part of that boot camp will be a pitch contest that has a $10,000 award.
