The Raping of College Culture - Ep 2911

In the college rape scandal that continues to be discussion points around the country, I, I had the, uh, opportunity to drive, uh, from Memphis, Tennessee, uh, down to Tupelo, Mississippi.

I also had the opportunity to listen to a lot of radio that I wouldn't normally hear, um, the D.L. Hughley Show.

And I'm probably saying his name incorrectly, my apologies.

I'm not trying to be cute.

I just don't know the gentleman.

I listened to sports talk that somehow got on this topic.

I listened to, uh, some more talk radio that I wouldn't normally hear.

Um, and all of it, all of it was very, very worldly.

And what we've seen in the college cultures is, let's remember some things.

Uh, this isn't a popular thing to remember, but it's a true thing.

The Christian Church created the first universities.

Did you know that? And the reason that happened is the, um, the, the, the evangelists needed to be able to speak different languages.

So it was an effort to spread the gospel.

That's what inspired the creation of colleges and universities.

Now, it branched out from there, but let's remember some other things.

Searching the stars was an attempt to find God.

Searching our bodies, materialism began as an effort to understand how God built us, God's design for us.

So universities have a background in faith.

Harvard used to be a Christian college.

Yale was profoundly Christian.

A lot of the early colleges were because God's gift of knowledge and intelligence, which, you know, ours pales in comparison to His, was truly something that people admired, and it was something that people celebrated through college and through university and study.

And what I've seen in this Cornell Seven case is just that number, seven.

There's an eighth person.

A- a- and so much of the debate here is about her role in this.

N- now, if we're to look at this biblically, a- and we should, none of this ever could have happened in a, in a purely biblical society.
