Ohio State Football Season is Upon Us! Can Julian Sayin's Buckeyes Clear 9.5 Wins? | The Script

On the latest edition of The Script... Week 1 is here, and Cardale Jones, Beanie Wells, and Dave Holmes are setting the table for Ohio State’s 2026 season! What does success look like in the opener against Ball State? Who needs to emerge on defense? And can Julian Sayin take another step while leading one of the most talented offenses in the country?  Then, we break down the Buckeyes’ 9.5-projected win total giving you game-by-game schedule predictions as we navigate our way through the most challenging 5-game stretch in all of college football.  We'll also contemplate whether a 9-3 Ohio State team could still reach the College Football Playoff, and we'll identify the games that may prove to be sneaky difficult.  Plus, the guys reflect on Jim Tressel’s amazing career as he prepares to go into the Ohio State Ring of Honor. We’ll discuss what made him such a special coach and how his arrival changed the trajectory of the program. Cardale also shares what it was like to think he'd be playing for Coach Tress only to wind up playing for the much different Urban Meyer.  And with 59 Buckeyes on NFL rosters—including every Ohio State draft pick from the last two years—the crew celebrates the program’s ability to develop talent before making over/under calls on Carnell Tate, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Terry McLaurin.    #OhioStateFootball #Buckeyes #CollegeFootball #JulianSayin #CardaleJones #BeanieWells #CarnellTate #MarvinHarrisonJr #JaxonSmithNjigba #ArthurSmith #JimTressel  00:00 Intro  00:57 What do you want to see vs Ball State?  05:16 What can we bank on with 2026 Buckeyes?  7:30 Jim Tressel going into OSU Ring of Honor  15:25 OSU offense leveling-up under Arthur Smith  19:09 Will Buckeyes go over 9.5 wins?  34:57 Ohio State thriving in the NFL!  36:26 Over/Unders for OSU alumni    Thank you to our sponsors:   Dr Pepper - It's a Pepper Thing!   BUCKEYE BASEMENT SOLUTIONS: https://buckeyebasementsolutions.com/ If you live in Central Ohio and want to keep your basement dry and your foundation strong, call Buckeye Basement Solutions today at (614) 956-4592 or visit BuckeyeBasementSolutions.com   KEMBA Credit Union Get your exclusive offer at kemba.org/TheScript   New episodes of THE SCRIPT drop every Wednesday throughout the season.
