[upbeat music] Acts chapter 2, verses 14 through 16, "But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel." The message that Peter stood up and preached on the day of Pentecost, it changed history.

The whole church age, it was the birth of the church, and the age we find ourselves in today started at Pentecost.

The message of the cross and the outpouring of the Spirit, that all of creation hinges on that message, that experience.

But without...

And then the c- without the cross, nothing else matters.

We know that the cross is everything.

But without the outpouring of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, the cross would've been the end of the story.

But that story was applied to us.

And so in order for us to truly understand the message that Peter preached that day, we must go back to the beginning.

Something to understand, your Bible wasn't made to make sense without the Old Testament.

The Old Testament points to the New Testament, and we're gonna follow that thread that runs throughout the Old Testament into Pentecost.

Just a heads-up, if you were here a couple Wednesday nights ago, we taught on Pentecost.
