Learn more about The Ocean Age Walk & Talk, Barcelona, 1st Nov 2026 Too many proven ocean solutions never make it past the pilot stage. Stewart…
Stewart Sarkozy-BanoczyGuestFed De GobbiHostAnd I should mention, anybody who's planning to come to Barcelona, if you come a day earlier on the Sunday, Sunday, November 1st, we're organizing together a walk and talk event.
We're going to take a small number of entrepreneurs, ocean and water entrepreneurs, to walk along the Costa Brava, along the Camí de Ronda.
And then we are going to take you all to dinner at the end of the day back in Barcelona.
And I have to ask, from your point of view, since you've seen, you know, obviously from the United States, but you spend a lot of time over here.
Do you see Europe as a good place to be for someone who is building in the blue economy? Barcelona in particular? Are there other cities? What's your view on this?
And my partners at the port and the city know that we all talk about each other when we're having these kinds of conversations.
So on the one hand, there are other ports and cities and places to go for sure.
There's some amazing stuff happening, really interesting stuff happening in parts of Africa and South America.
But I think that the thing that's quite different and the reason we're there and the reason we're bringing others there with us and why we continue to build up that ecosystem is that there's a very specific, as I said, even this new $15 million Bluetech port space that's being built out of these old warehouses, right? It's a very concrete place to come and do the work and the ecosystem is supportive of it.
So the answer is yes, but I think It's more than that because it's also like what we all connect with each other when we're there, not just for the events, but on that kind of like almost day-to-day basis in the blue economy and blue tech space.
But, you know, if you're not coming to Europe from a sales standpoint, then there are places like the San Diego, the Port of San Diego, Altacy, which is amazing.
And Jenny, who's one of the co-founders, is on our board of directors there.
So I think there are other places and some of them we work super closely with.
