Jim SouhanHostI mean, yeah, it was Tim Connolly being Tim Connolly and being kind of resourceful, trying to get out there and find ways to make all of the puzzle pieces fit together.
Now, one big component of that is that ownership now with Mark's dad and Alex Rodriguez is really did empower Tim Connolly to have the financial wherewithal to say, hey, if you cannot find a trade for Josh Green that opens up the necessary space, you can also just wave and stretch him, and we will carry his $5 million salary over the next three years, and we'll just figure things out along the way.
For him to be able to operate with that kind of parameter, it took a little bit of the pressure off of him in terms of looking for deals to make.
If he had that bullet in his chamber, that kind of case of emergency, you can use this alternative.
And then he went out and improved their position because he worked out a deal with the Utah Jazz, sends Josh Green there, gets John Conchar and Cody Williams back, and...
It's kind of the best of both worlds because Conchar came back and he only had one year left on his deal.
And so when you wave and stretch Conchar, you're only putting like $2 million on the salary cap for this year and next versus $5 million for the next three years.
And so it gives you just another guy to take a look at and just see if, hey, maybe he can help us.
Maybe a little change of scenery will get him on track because he hasn't really... kind of shown a whole lot of promise with Utah until the end of last year, but it just gives them another body who's a 3-4, who has some athleticism, and is intriguing enough for them to take a look at.
But it all comes down to this front office being able to find opportunities like this one and for the ownership group to say, hey, if this means that you have to take on a little bit of dead money going forward, we're okay with that as long as we're giving ourselves the best chance to win.
And they believe that Jonathan Kaminga is adding him at the fore gives them a much better chance to win than prior to his arrival.
