Sabres Hunting for Consistency

Um, I mean, I think there is progress.

I think tonight was a big, big step in the right direction for, uh, the team as a whole, and a number of players that are, are going to be important to them over the next, you know, 70-odd games they have left here.

Um, you know, any time you can get three out of four points versus two divisional rivals on ba- on a back to back, uh, you, you really can't complain about that.

Um-

... you know, especially when the second of those games is on the road.

Um, you know, so the-

The, the recent past, the games on, uh, you know, this evening, Tuesday, and, and last night, uh, Monday, really good.

You know, I thought, I thought the Florida game was, was really well played by-

... all but really one guy, and we'll, I'm sure we'll, we'll at least touch on that again, 'cause that just seems to not go away.

Um, but the Dallas and, and, and Utah, we recorded, you know, kind of in the middle of the Dallas game, um, last week 'cause of our, of our scheduling conflicts, but the Utah game was-

And that was a, that was a snoozer.

I don't, uh-

They were not good, right? Yeah

... yeah, I mean, maybe marginally better, Chris.

I mean, it wasn't, if it was better, it wasn't better by much.

Um, you know, they lose, they lose four to one.

Um, just not, I mean, and Utah's a very good team.

I think, you know, s- it's, it's tough to walk that line when you, um, you look at the schedule and you have to acknowledge, you know, they've, they've played, basically they've played seven games so far, and the last five of them they've played four playoff ga- f- four playoff teams and the Florida Panthers, you know? So-

Mm.

Um, you know, they have a real, real tough schedule off the hop, but y- we also have to keep things in perspective and, you know, you are the defending division champions.

So, you know, it's not like, y- you know, the, the expectation's a little bit different now, regardless of who, um, may, may not be in that dressing room from, from last, um, from last year, right? You know, so you have to, you have to strike that balance.
