Kevin Adams was fired in the middle of December, and it's, I think it's pretty much on record at this point that the players did not really respect the guy that was running the team.

And I don't know that a lot of people around the league did.

And why would you? I mean, where was he hired from? The business administration department of the Sabres as basically a right-hand man to ownership when COVID was going on and they were letting everybody go with layoffs.

But what are the Red Wings doing? They're at baseball people that just work within the family? And that is not where I would want to be.

That feels like Kevin Adams.

That's what it reminded me of when I saw that earlier today.

When Kevin Adams got hired, I mean, he had played in the NHL.

He had worked – the Academy of hockey.

He had been an assistant coach.

And a big reason why I think the Red Wings have missed the playoffs each of these three years is they get to the late stages of the season and they're relying on to get them home, middle of the road, 30-year-old players.

Their roster build under Steve Iserman, who I believe put them in this hole, was they got a couple of nice young pieces, and then they did the opposite of what the Sabres did.

And he did produce some, but not the level he's at.

That's a guy, yeah, maybe, you know, he's a Kevin Adams acquisition guy.

Maybe that's a guy they would part with.

But the question is, having not stayed healthy for three, four years for a full season, does anyone want to take on that contract? I mean, it makes a lot of money, whatever it is, $7 million, $8 million.

Tim Murray's finally coming out of his cave in Florida.

So it's kind of going to be interesting to see know where he kind of goes but i think that's a little bit too much of a price to pay for him at this point i think you get away with maybe giving away a little bit less i saw trying to think i want to say a similar pack now i want to say was this might have been too little but it was ostland mcleod and a upl for Hellebuck, and that's something I would actually do something like that because you do have the depth players to give up, and that's why Buffalo is such a big key factor in this.

This team that Kevin Adams assembled has got its nice little depth pieces in youth to give up here, so we do have some cards to play.

I don't want to see them play the wrong one.

What are your thoughts on that deal that you said? I'm a no on Hellebuck.

So I just think they have a lot of key pieces locked up for a little bit here.

No, not to be the dead horse, but.

I think a lot of this was more a sign of the times than it was Kevin Adams being savvy.

You had COVID and you had a salary cap that hadn't gone up for a few years there.

That was the start of their 10-game winning streak.

They were 11, 14, and 4, last in the East And the rest of the way, you know, I think it was 39-9 and .5 after, you know, including hiring GM Kevin Adams.

So they became a contending team.

They found their stride.

When you have a guy like Jarmo Kekalainen, when he brings in Mark Bergeron, [laughs] brings in several, you know, Stan Surovs comes from Tampa where he's won Cups and built AHL teams.

Now they go hire John Davidson as a senior advisor.

There are experienced hockey people atop the Buffalo Sabres now, and that was not the case for the most part under Kevin Adams.

And in recent times they were looking at new general managers over and over and over again with Tim Murray and Jason Botterill and Kevin Adams.

I mean, Kevin Adams said that it's hard to make the Buffalo Sabres good because they don't have palm trees, and the moment he left they got good, so I don't know.
