Well, there was a certain CEO from EA that has earned $38 million thanks to a successful Battlefield 6 launch after quite significant studio layoffs.
This is from an article at IGN by Virginia Blaze.
four months after the devs responsible for making the game got laid off.
Battlefield 6 was the highest-selling game of 2025, beating out Call of Duty, Black Ops 7 and NBA 2K26.
It sold over seven million copies in just three days and was the best-selling title across Xbox and PC at the time.
However, in March 2026, just five months after celebrating the most successful launch in the Battlefield franchise ever, EA laid off an undetermined number of employees across all its Battlefield teams to better align itself around what matters most to our community.
Now, come July, one of EA's SEC filings have been released showing that CEO Andrew Wilson, he's got a name, his total compensation for the 2026 fiscal year added up to $38,649,984.
I assume that's not U.S. or, yeah, it's not U.S. or U.N.
I assume that's U.S., not U.N. It's probably robots.
That is so obscene, man.
It's like hundreds of times the average salary of an EA employee.
And not mentioned here is also the fact that EA pays for him to fly everywhere in a private jet, including his personal journeys.
So not just his work trips, he can just use the private jet whenever he wants and EA pays for it.
Bearing in mind, of course, that EA is about to be in debt to itself because of this leveraged buyout.
It's about to go through to the tune of over $20 billion.
So it's going to be a whole lot of money going towards the old private jets and the debt servicing while they probably don't have any money left to pay anyone to make games.
So I don't know how that's supposed to work.
It's crazy,
yeah.
Should put that in there too.
What percentage of their owners are like 50%, sort of 51% buyout or what's the numbers for
that? I think they are buying it out.
What? Actual numbers, we'll have to probably get back
