Farzin discusses some of the latest chatter surrounding Kenneth Walker's workload as well as Josh Simmons' injury. Farzin also talks about some of the biggest stories around the NFL this week. Plus…
Let's start with Kenneth Walker because Kenneth Walker... spoke to the media this week and what's been the conversation uh with kenneth walker recently well yes his dominance that's one thing but also the uh the workload he's had in just the span of what two games 47 carries and nine receptions So 56 touches in two games.
And a lot of people are wondering if this is going to be one of those situations that turns into a Larry Johnson deal.
Larry Johnson, great running back during his time with the Chiefs, albeit the hot run that he had was not... long live like we would have hoped for uh but still a great run nonetheless in fact i think um the uh back-to-back performances the back-to-back games that kenneth walker has had we have not seen in a running back since larry johnson i think it's 170 yards uh let me just make sure of that in back-to-back games that has not happened since larry johnson Or something to that effect.
And I want to be clear, the Chiefs have had good and some great running backs since then.
Kareem Hunt, okay, his rookie year he wasn't putting up massive numbers, but it was good enough to lead the league in rushing that season.
Carl's at a lot of great things, especially with not a lot of great talent around him.
I would even argue that Jamal did more with less at the time when he was with the Chiefs.
But K-9 is just doing things that we have not had in quite some time here in Kansas City with the ground game.
And you're hoping that these next three years that Walker is going to be with the Chiefs.
And a lot of people said, oh, the Chiefs are never going to pay for a running back.
It seems like they should have sooner because maybe this would have prevented some issues in the past with the offense, maybe at least last year, who knows.
But boy, what you're seeing right now from Walker, and I do think coaching is playing a big hand in that, it's really making a big impact.
We've talked a lot about Chad O'Shea and Eric Bien-Ami, and I've mentioned DeMarco Murray's name a couple of times.
