Narrative Numbers Chapter 22 Part 1: To the Edge of Sheol

The sons of Yaakov pulled up their tent pegs and journeyed.

They camped in the Arvot place or the sunset of Moab from father across the Yardane descent.

Balak, makes void, son of Tzipor, sparrow, saw all Yisrael had done to the Emori, westerners.

Moab tarried long before the face of the people, for he was great in number.

Moab loathed the face of the sons of Yisrael.

Moab said to the elders of Midian, from relegative justice, now this gathering will look at everything around us as an ox licks up the green of the field.

Valak, son of Tzipur, was king for Moab in that appointed time.

He sent angels to Bil'am, swallower of people, son of Beor, burning, of the dream interpreters, which is over the river of the land of the sons of his people, to call to him, saying, Look here, a people has departed from Mitzrayim.

Look here, the eye of the land is covered.

He is sitting on the precipice with me.

Now walk, please curse this people for me, for they are too vast for me.

Perhaps I will be able to strike them.

I will drive them out of the land, for I know that the one whom you kneel and bless is blessed.

The one whom you curse is cursed.

The old ones of Moab walked.

The old ones of Midian, divination in their hands.

They came to Bil'am.

They spoke to him the words of Balak.

He said to them, Lodge here this night.

I will return a word to you as Yahweh speaks to me.

The commanders of Moab dwelt with Bil'am.

Elohim came to Bil'am.

He said, Who are these men who are with you? Bil'am said to the Elohim, Balak, son of Tzipor, king of Moab, sent them to me.

Look here, the people are departing from Yitzrayim.
