How was
that? I saw him in Southampton two weeks ago today.
And then the Sunday if I saw him in London and he'd been on the road, I think about a week or so before I saw him in Southampton.
And a few friends of mine went to the very first show in Nottingham.
And it was pretty much like a rehearsal because I believe he'd hardly done any major prep for it.
Um, and because it came to a surprise everyone the fact is that he was touring because the end of last summer when he did the moth concert back in holland and then sort of said he's going on a tour hiatus for the next three four five years fast forward less than 18 months and he's announcing he's doing european tour it
was an acoustic
show though wasn't it Yeah, it was quite, well, he only played, I mean, he played like 23, 24 songs, but he just sort of did abridged versions of half of them.
Because he's basically telling his, it's almost like a bio show where he's talking about his musical career from the very first thing he ever did, how he got a record deal.
Yeah.
Wow.
But, like, some of them were just, like, half, like, maybe up to the first chorus, and then he'd sort of just stop and then just start talking about the next thing, because he's got... 28 studio albums he's got 40 albums plus in his catalog if you think like the lives and stuff like that so to do that in a two-hour show you can't do every single song so he was yeah doing these sort of abridged versions and then um at the nottingham show it was felt like a much like a rehearsal when i saw him in southampton it was a bit more polished but it was not as good and then by the time he got to london like four days later it was just like he nailed it it was like ah that's the dev i know um He played like three or four songs with backing tracks, but for the most of it, it was literally just him, a guitar, and his voice.
I wonder if he
decided that because it's just a shit ton easier than trying to arrange a full solo band tour.
Well, it's also cost.
He needs to make money.
I think he's got to do some more stuff with his studio that he's got.
He set up this Dolby Atmos studio on the outskirts of Vancouver where he lives.
And I think to evolve that, he needs money.
Because the plan is that he was going to take four or five years off and just focus on doing studio stuff.
not necessarily just for himself, maybe for other artists, doing like the 5.1 Dolby Atmos stuff.
It's quite a unique process to do that.
