Puckguy & Tyler breakdown the Sharks 3-2 overtime win over St. Louis on Thursday night. Darnell Nurse with winning goal thanks to a sweet pass from Ivar Stenberg. Goalie Alex Nedeljkovic's season…
So let's recap this game from start to finish.
I didn't see anything that looked like he was going to be good to go, blaring to go.
Doesn't skate in the warm-ups, so we kind of knew that things were out, but The Sharks definitely looked a lot more composed in this game.
Granted, Tyler, after one period, they were getting outshot 11-3.
Yeah,
offense in the first was really hard to come by.
Even the defense wasn't looking particularly strong.
There was a lot of really iffy chances that they were getting that's like, guys, you got to clear the front of the net.
but they were able to smooth things over.
They survived the first, and then as we'll get into the second and third looked far better.
Yeah.
I mean, they could have been a lot worse.
And granted, Connor McMichael gets the goal early on, about less than four minutes into the game.
And you're thinking, oh, boy.
And to me, I thought Ned started a little slow and then kind of got confidence and... for lack of a better term, thawed out from being, you know, he hasn't seen a whole lot of shots that weren't from the, that weren't his teammates in, I think, like a couple weeks.
right yeah being that this is his first game there was definitely some some shaking off the rust right there was a lot of instances this game when he left at the goal crease he did not look comfortable and there was a couple times where it almost hurt the team quite badly luckily we didn't get any of those situations this time but Definitely something he's going to have to work on more as he's probably going to get more reps throughout the season.
Though we're going to have to see because it seems like the Sharkgrass is quite happy with Askarov so far.
We'll see.
I mean, as we get into it, we'll start a goalie controversy for sure.
But
Ned
definitely, I think, calmed the nerves keeping them in it.
Yes, there was that one post that kind of looked like it was about to go through Ned and then just trickled out.
