may I I went to go see a show of his in nashville was great um he seems uh You know, he did the kind of thing that a lot of people do when they get canceled, which is they kind of disappear for like a year and then they just come back and everybody kind of like pretends it didn't happen because they have to eventually come to terms with the fact that the music is good.
Yeah.
I think that kind of happened with Ariel Pink a little bit.
He couldn't get any shows for like a year.
And then he came out with that new album and people had to acknowledge that he was a good musician again.
Yeah.
He's still kind of canceled though, right? Like Pitchfork didn't throw him a review.
You'll always be canceled, right? Once that cherry's popped, that's how it is.
Yeah.
not to be unfair or whatever, but Ariel is way too in love with his own cancellation.
And I think it's gotten to the point now where it's, It's like, it's let it live on forever, you know? I just, he's so autistic, right? Like, I don't think he can help himself but to turn it into a bit.
And it was funny at first, but now it's just like, uh now it just sounds like kind of like boneheaded anti-woke i've never been like the biggest ariel pink fan but i respect him as an artist um and i love his like i like his in i liked his interviews back in the day because he has really great taste
but um but it's not i i was always more of a mouse fan but um Yeah, there's just, like, he's still tweeting about his cancellation from, what, six years ago? That's, like, all he posts about.
And the thing is, Ariel is super fucking lazy at the end of the day, you know? I don't know if he has, like...
There was that Devere Ball... uh-huh and it was fun and ariel did a show and he came he played on the staircase uh which was clever and fun but then he only like sang three songs sitting on the staircase uh no band or anything just singing with the tracks and it was like so obviously phoned in
It's kind of awesome.
That reminds me of when the mentors came to town and he was just sitting in a fucking like restaurant chair the whole time singing, singing, like find them, feel them, fuck them.
Like, you know, sitting down with the microphone, like old man style.
