And the first big story, it's about data centers.

New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection just slapped a $1 million fine on a controversial South Jersey data center.

It's a 300-megawatt data center in Vineland.

It's under construction.

And that data center was caught operating dozens of natural gas-powered generators when an environmental... media organization called Floodlight.

They captured thermal drone footage of that center using them.

And the data center was in its initial phases of construction.

It had some approvals, but the problem is it did not have permits for those generators and had not applied for those permits.

And the generators they were using are known to emit chemicals linked to asthma, heart attacks, and other conditions.

That data center is developed by Data One for Nibius Group.

It's expected to support infrastructure for AI.

It's a part of a $17 billion deal with Microsoft.

And the violent community, they have pushed back hard on this data center.

Since it broke ground last year, they complained about noise.

They complained about pollution.

And so New Jersey DEP said, They issued this fine against Data One, and they said it is the largest action ever taken against a data center in the Garden State.

And for its part, Data One said the generators were a temporary measure to be used only until permanent clean energy fuel cells had arrived.

But they didn't get the permits for it.

Right.

They were in the wrong.

But the DEP commissioner says that the Sherrill administration wants to send a clear message that these facilities will not be constructive or operated with impunity in the state.

And Kevin, this is part of a broad, you know, crackdown on data centers in Virginia.

They issued a two and a half million dollar fine to a Microsoft data center for exceeding its emissions last year.

So all eyes on these data centers.
