Adam AaronsonPanelistTony JonesPanelistRBHostWell, let's jump into the media day, man, because usually, you know, there's I think you guys told me before, like the same 10, 15, 20 faces.
And I saw something yesterday that said there was over 100 people there.
Is that true? Can you guys confirm that? Like, what was the, I guess, setup like and how insane was it that first time seeing LeBron walk through that door in a form? Yeah.

it was crazy it was the most people i've ever seen in the facility for any any press conference or event media day it probably was around 100 people even practice today you know we were just talking usually a practice is i don't know 10 to 15 people maybe on a big day 15 to 20. i counted about 50 people in the gym today when practice was wrapping up so The attention around this team obviously is massive.

But These guys know the microscope is on them, and LeBron said it at media day.

I know that not just my personality, but the attention that comes with me joining a team, how that can impact other players.

It's not necessarily, is everybody built for that sort of thing? The Sixers, I think, think that they have a group that is built for the sort of spotlight that the the lebron acquisition puts on them but much easier to say that right now when you're just practicing than the first time you hit adversity and this team does know that at some point it is going to hit adversity they know this thing is not going to click as nicely as they wanted to right away their schedule early on is not particularly easy either so it's going to be interesting to see how they sort of manage the early expectations because this might not look as beautiful as sixers fans want it to look on opening night at madison square garden But they are really confident that if they keep working and everybody, the big word around here now is sacrifice.

Everybody makes the necessary sacrifices that this team could do something special and they certainly have the talent to do it.
Yeah, I thought it was noteworthy that on a day where You know, the Philadelphia Phillies are in Atlanta playing in a playoff series and a wildcard series on a day after a Monday night football game where there's so much media committed to Chicago and the Philadelphia Eagles playing the Chicago Bears on Monday night football.
There was still just so much media for the first day of training camp at the facility, at the Sixers facility in Camden, New Jersey.
You know, I think the antidote that, you know, you could say that that kind of encapsulates it all.
You know, the Sixers had to, you know, kind of in an emergency move the podium.
The way our media setup is, you know, we walk in, you know, there's a podium and there's the Sixers backdrop in a certain spot.
And they had to move it to a different spot to accommodate the sheer volume of media.
And then when Coach Nick Nurse went and talked, you know when he went and talked they had to you know connect him you know to to the loudspeaker and kind of turn the loudspeaker up so everybody that was there uh could hear like nurse and you know where you know everybody's talking nick nurse talks for a long time because he didn't talk a media day so you know we had a lot of questions for him there uh he's given great answers uh vj gave really great answers vj is turning into a great um to a really really good side he's a comedian these days yeah he really is a comedian and then uh anthony simons is talking everybody's interested in anthony simons because it's the first time other than media day that he talked second time we talked to him in vegas and then lebron's helicopter shows up And, you know, and Anthony kind of has to stop because the helicopter is landing and then the helicopter is quiet.
And then after the press conference continues, the helicopter takes off again.
