How have the challenges with the environment we're currently in around inclusion, the I in DEI, um-

You know what I mean? Because w- what is wrong with wanting everyone to have an equal shot? You know what I mean?

Yeah, no, well, we, me and you both may yell real quick, but I mean, where, where do you see this work now in this current environment, and how have you had to adjust?

I mean, if you had asked me this a year and change ago, I might have had a different tune given, you know, what was happening when the current administration, um, started making a lot of the, um, changes that they did.

I think we're in a place now that just feels fundamentally different from where we were 10 years ago in that especially in our industry, in marketing, there is so much bullshit around DE&I that is detrimental to any kind of social impact movement or social justice movement.

Um, in some ways, I think the attacks have created a bit of a filter on who's actually standing with us, and us can be whatever community we're, or can be collectively about, uh, people who believe in, in the greater cause of social justice-

And that's something when I'm working with brands now as an advisor, I don't do a lot of inclusive marketing work these days.

The work that I do is much more about how you show up in culture, but the first thing that I will ask a brand is, "Is this a marketing initiative to you, or is this something that you genuinely believe you wanna be doing?"
