First up, flying into theaters, Spider-Man goes on another adventure fighting crime.
This is Spider-Man Brand New Day.
You gotta come with me.
I don't know if you're the real Spider-Man.
You just have to trust me.
Fine.
You're not gonna get away with this.
Take this card, boy.
I didn't know you could get that big.
You're the only one who's immune to it.
You're the only one who can sense it.
You better do something.
You better do it now.
You ready?
Four years after Dr. Strange's spell erased Peter Parker from the world's memory, Peter, played by Tom Holland, lives a solitary existence in New York City, devoting himself entirely to fighting street-level crime as Spider-Man.
Cut off from his best friends, MJ and Ned, played by Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who have moved on with their lives unaware of his existence, Peter now has a sense of deep loneliness.
The pressure of full-time crime-fighting and suppressed grief triggers a sudden physical mutation in Peter.
His powers begin to evolve unpredictably, granting him organic web-shooting and heightened reflexes, but also subjecting him to terrifying surges of aggression and a loss of control.
At the same time, a shadowy new threat emerges in New York, an invisible, mind-controlling villain capable of jumping between bodies and manipulating citizens and humans alike.
As chaos spreads through the streets, Spider-Man forms a reluctant alliance with the ruthless vigilante Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, played by John Bernthal.
Together, they navigate a dangerous web of street crimes, running into opposition from the Department of Damage Control and clashing with an unexpectedly mind-controlled Bruce Banner, played by Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo, forcing Peter to push his new powers to their limit.
When I saw the trailer for this, I predicted it would be a see-it.
And I give this film a...
