And Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar for that, right? So this is a movie where he's trying to do an eyes wide shut kind of film where he casts Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, real life couple, as a married couple where he is an architect.

She's a book editor.

I mean, she's barely given anything really to do in this movie.

And he is being... hired by a tech billionaire and once you see who's playing him though you know that it's a reference to elon musk to build a apocalyptic bunker it's funny that at the at the world premiere at the end there was a 15-minute standing ovation the critics did not go over this movie at all and then you see penelope cruz sobbing and i wonder it's perhaps because she just watched her movie in its totality but it is bugged with these extremely heavy-handed metaphors about wealth disparity and the bunkers within all of our souls.

At one point, Penelope Cruz says to Javier Bardem, oh, you're building a bunker in your heart or whatever.

Come on.

The problem is the performances are good and I think that The only way it will travel is because it will attract interest with the fact that this is a real life couple.

That's very interesting.

And one of Hollywood's and European cinema's most glamorous couples, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz were in Venice as well.

Yeah, we had, they have very much pivoted towards Europe because I, partly because they've been so outspoken on Palestine and it's very clear they're not getting as much work in the United States.

But, you know, they're still getting great films and one of them is Bunker, that's their new film by Florian Zeller.

Like, I picked up on Natalie Portman early on and was just like, God, she's like the dream woman.

Penelope Cruz early on, they've aged beautifully.

okay so this was in theaters not that long ago and while finn was visiting one night we rented it it's kind of an expensive rental right now because it's it's just out of theater so it's like 20 bucks or something but it stars seth rogan as joe olivia wilde penelope cruz and ed norton and so seth rogan and olivia wilde are joe and angela and joe and angela are a couple living in an apartment in san francisco And their marriage isn't doing really well.

They're kind of resentful of each other.

They argue a lot.

She's kind of, you know, in a rut herself.

And she kind of figures that she can spice up things and maybe make things more interesting by inviting this other couple over.

which is Penelope Cruz's Pina and Ed Norton who plays Hawk.

And they're kind of a mysterious couple who live upstairs, make a lot of noise.

Yeah.

I also just think, I don't know, maybe this is evident by how excited I am for Pan's Labyrinth, but I'm just fascinated about anything that ties to the Spanish Civil War.
