So here's what goes on.

Hiroshi Randa's death, spoilers, sends shockwaves through the group at his funeral.

Yeah, he

dies.

They kill the main

character? No, no.

No way.

So Kate and Keiko mourn together while Kentaro seethes with anger.

Lee Shaw watches the burial from a distance, lost in thought.

A flashback shows Kentaro sketching Kong on Skull Island two weeks earlier.

Kong senses Kentaro immediately and growls at him.

Hiroshi later tells Kentaro he found a rift in Alaska that had dropped him into Africa a year later.

So that's where he was when they were looking for him.

1950s flashbacks show Keiko and Bill settling into Monarch's Arlington, Virginia headquarters.

Lee requested a transfer driven by his feelings for Keiko and then gets drunk with his father the night before starting his important new job.

And well, it goes as well as you imagine.

In 2017, Kate and Keiko decode the Titan X signal as a transmission full of fear and panic.

And Lee and Zook, who'd showed up at Suzuki, go to test a Rift device that nearly pulls Lee through and his own radio crackles with a distress call from another version of himself.
