Welcome back to the Scinary Information Nexus! Texas is teasing us with a little "false fall" weather, and the crew is back in the studio to talk through brand-new state AI mandates, sneaky phishing…
I will say I was out this week, so I didn't really get a lot of time to read any articles or anything.
So I actually don't, I mean, no doubt there was something.
I
mean, so there's a new ransomware group that we've been seeing some activity from, but there's not a lot of information on them.
No, they are branded because there's no IOCs or TTPs.
The biggest thing is that they're, you know, running their payloads in Rust and C++.
So all we have really from them is what they're saying about themselves and the fact that they've been successful in about 10 attacks over the last two months.
I would bet, by and large, they're getting in the same way everybody else gets in.
It's an edge.
Yeah, it's an edge.
I believe there's
a couple of security vendors that have already identified that SSL VPN was involved in several of those.
Yeah, most likely is.
Well, one thing, not necessarily cybersecurity news, but I do know October is quickly approaching.
And with that comes a number of different conferences that we are attending, along with some webinars.
I know the first one that we're going to is the iTech event, which is the Iowa Technology Educational Conference.
Following that, I think we have a conference.
Technology Conference.
I will be going to that one myself.
