Edge returns to the caravan, where he hears about the Zoah Forest, which is said to be protected from monsters by the powers of the gods.
So, uh, the, there's a village there where you don't get eaten by monsters, and Edge is like, "That sounds cool.
Let's go there." Uh, when we get there, we hear vague talk about a holy district that we can't get into because it's a special place for special, rich, holy people.
I don't know if this will be important later or if it's just flavor and to give us the idea that this place is bigger than it is.
A bartender tells Edge that Crayman's fleet passed by, and they're looking for a ruin called The Tower.
He gives Edge a photograph of The Tower, uh, and says that he got it, uh, from a local guy named Pete.
Uh, Pete is spelled P-A-E-T.
I did not listen to how they pronounce it in the, in the dialogue, but I like to pronounce it Pete.
Yeah, he feels like a Pete too.
He's an asshole, is what he is.
[laughs]
Pete hangs out in a very well-hidden corner of town, tinkering with ancient machinery.
I don't know if I'm just an idiot, but it took me so long to find him even though they give you directions.
Did you have-
So-
... trouble finding Pete?
Th- this town is probably the worst JRPG town I've ever interacted with.
So-
Okay, thank you
... uh, I get into the bar, and when I first show up the first, uh, first time, it's, it's nighttime.
And I only know this because I get into the dark and I say, "Hey, it's nighttime right now," because this bu- place in particular has a very bright nighttime sky box, and it's not particularly dark.
Here in the daytime, it's very, very bright, and once I saw it in the daytime, I could tell the difference between the two.
But when I arrived, I just thought this was, like, a moody-looking town.
And so I get in there, and they were like, "Oh yeah, he's here in the liberal district with us.
He's not in the h- holy district." And the town, the, the door that leads to the holy, uh, uh, holy district, is it obvious that that's not just, like, another door out, out of town? It looks just like the door you came into town on.
