I always vote for Panzer Dragoon Saga whenever I can.

And again, I'm just gonna keep saying Psy-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy until someone tells me to shut up.

Like, you know what? I'm not doing this to be like some big bragger, but at the time, like I remember, you know, you'd speak to people in the retro gaming community and they're like, I remember at the time, I think Panzer Dragoon Saga was like the game that was, was the expensive, you know, game that everyone wanted to get.

And, you know, if you had it, it was like, you know, something for people to be in awe of.

And, you know, you'd hear these stories, like I remember I was in a game shop and this guy's like, yeah, I found Panzer Dragoon Saga, like behind some bins.

And it's like, what? Like, you know, you're thinking, you're so jealous to hear these stories.

But now it's like, you know, I really love PS2 horror games.

... um, the Panzer Dragon Saga.

You've got a bunch of different role-playing games on that console.

Um, but by the time they got to Saturn, we just stopped paying attention.

Um, I had exactly one friend who started talking up Panzer Dragoon, but I think it was Panzer Dragoon Saga.

There's like a mysticism around Panzer Dragoon Saga, which is the JRPG, like incredibly long, incredibly rare, and as a result, ridiculously expensive RPG version of these games.

And... that has like a legendary quality to it by this point, but I never really did play the originals.

And today we'll be covering Panzer Dragoon Saga.

When you asked me to come on the show to talk about an RPG, I was hesitant just because time somehow has become more of a premium since I left the military, which makes no sense to most people, but it doesn't make sense to me either.

But fortunately, you asked for the right one because I'm sure we'll get into the length here, but Panzer Dragoon fit into my schedule nicely.

Yeah, I've been unfortunately wanting to play Panzer Dragoon Saga for... 20 years because it just doesn't exist anymore.

Like it came out barely on the Sega Saturn, which barely came out in the US.

So it's like, I guess my guess, I'd say there's probably 300 copies that exist of that.

You can't.

And it's good you bring up Panzer Dragoon Saga.

That's a great segue into Skies of Arcadia.

And I don't think it's very fun to imagine what is happening outside of your ship.

Panzer Dragoon Saga should have been the model for all RPGs going forward.
