Final Fantasy XI

Could we peel our eyes away from Sanraku's exploits, or did the feeling of SLF feel like a trash manga? Do we find ourselves longing for more or wondering how it amassed such an impressive volume count? More importantly, do we plan to continue playing along with Sanraku and co, or is this one MMO we'll be cancelling after the free trial is over? So yeah, alluding to the fact that you played WoW, I played a lot of WoW back in the day.

I've played a lot of Final Fantasy XI, XIV, PSO...

I have also played my fair share of MMOs.

And I think this game kind of gets it right.

I love long-ass two-handed katanas.

That's why I play samurai in FFXI and XIV, like a humongous weeb.

It's why I live in Japan.

I hope to die by the sword someday.

So what's going on here? Well, a lot of my playtime, I was kind of just going back and forth.

And at this time, again, I was still kind of using Final Fantasy XI.

It was already booted up inside.

And when recreation time came to be, even though I was mainlining Linux, a lot of my gaming still was being done on Windows.

Intel.

This past year in 2025, you're going to see a big difference and a big change here.

One, I only played Final Fantasy XI.

I finally quit it this year.

That's definitely a lot more

interesting than FF11 devs is like a guy in a salaryman outfit just going, what if I put an extra zero at the end of this and no one could ever beat this fucking thing and they'll get sick trying to do it until the government regulates us.

That's definitely a lot more interesting than that.

They tried that stuff in WoW, but their players complained.

That's fucking great.

I can't imagine.

Like, I think FF11 is the fucking worst.

You couldn't even choose what fucking server they sent you to, and you'd have to, like, buy a fucking in-game thing to switch servers and start a new character because that shit was fucking crazy.

He's just going to be like the punching bag of the group, which I wouldn't doubt whatsoever because he kind of is, right? Like he is kind of the punching bag of the group.

I mean, he's the guy people make fun of and go, they laugh like Titus from Final Fantasy 11, right? Hen, sorry.

uh what else is there i don't think there's anything else i i there's so much ai stuff to cover it's it's impossible to keep up with it it's going to just dominate the uh the news uh for a while no rest for a wicked had their big 1.0 launch preview this past week and the wicked inside showcase i think they announced the dragoon class and that they also announced the class system So now in No Rest for the Wicked, if you've played that in the past, the new class system is that whenever you equip a weapon, it changes to that class, a la, like, Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy XIV, specifically.

So...

I do like the, uh, the kinda oral histories that emerge from these games.

Like, I loved reading about people playing, like, Final Fantasy XI when it first came out-
