Justin Mason is joined by Eric Samulski of Rotoworld to discuss the Rotoworld mock! Source
Eric SamulskiGuestJustin MasonHostFor those who have been following my content for a long time, and Eric and I were talking about this briefly off air before we got rolling, I used to do the two early mocks that would start usually around the end of September, so before the season was even completely done.
And it would be usually about, I don't know, somewhere between seven and ten leagues, 12 team leagues.
doing mocks that way you get like an early adp now with nfbc kind of their emergence we don't really need to do that anymore right because right an early adp i don't believe there's an adp um out yet but i don't
uh it says there is but that can't be right um so no no no adp but that'll be coming out here pretty soon uh but the one thing that i learned doing that is it's just frustratingly long because like you said some people are like really plugged in still other people are focused on football or taking vacations um and it kind of takes forever so yeah I've shown I have put up in the background on the YouTube the first six rounds you can see kind of behind us.
And we're just going to kind of go through the first round and kind of talk about it a little bit and then talk about some individual positions and kind of just get some quick thoughts on how we think this is going to apply to real life drafts.

Too early for me right now, especially with all the uncertainty of when the season will start.

There were some questions about when I posted the recap on Reddit, and we'll get to these larger conversations as we break this down, but do pitchers who aren't durable or aren't usually good for 180 innings, do they get a boost if we only get 130 games this season? And it's like...

I mean, yeah, probably like we need to think through that like we did in 2020 with COVID of like, if we don't have a full year, you know, do the injury risk guys become less, you know, do you penalize them less because they are less volatile, you know, and less of risk of missing time? We'll just say for the purpose of this mock that we're breaking down, we are assuming a full year.

One util... corner middle all that good stuff and then assume a lot assume a full pitching staff with relief pitcher spots and starting pitcher spots so nobody was drafting just nine starters or whatever
