Cade Smith

He was good for two innings against Baltimore, and then the third inning kind of fell apart on him.

That gets you seven, and then, you know, Sabrowski, Gaddis, and, and Cade Smith can go, um, later in the game if you need to.

Plus, you have Aleman out there, and we'll see what happens.

But it's a very [laughs] interesting way to go.

Hunter Gaddis did the job in the eighth.

And then it was Cade Smith on for the ninth.

Smith ready.

And Cleveland with a three spot here in the ninth.

Then in the bottom of the ninth, it was Cade Smith on to close it out.

It seemed kind of messy, and that doesn't really indicate great stuff for your guy.

By contrast, you see Cade Smith come out and just put it where the catcher sets up on this really live fastball.

I think the second that that ball hit the dirt and this guy scampers home for a free run – I think it's a little bit tough to come back from that one.

They've done it before, but then to give up a couple of ropes to the outfield and get this thing into beyond safe territory even.

So great job by the, uh, by the Guardians of finishing this one off.

[laughs] Like, that's what happens.

Um, you know, there's not a lot of guys, and, and the, the killer with Walters is, like, you know, he was a, a guy who first we weren't on board, then we liked the pick, and then as he was coming up, we were very honest about the fact that we thought, like, his stuff was on par with Cade Smith's.

It was.

Like, that his stuff could be that level of good, and, you know, the thought of adding him to when you had Class A and you had Smith and you had all of what you had there, and the way it just, uh...
