The Sleeper and the Bust Episode: 1525 – Week 19 FAAB

Well, we've got a bunch of stuff to talk about.

It's not an amazing fab week, um, so, uh, but it is a fab week, and we do have a trade that we're gonna talk about, uh, and, uh, a little bit-

A lot better than Aaron Civale for, uh, Aidan Moffett.

Yeah.

[laughs]

So this is a really interesting one, one I didn't really see coming.

Uh, though I had heard some rumors that the Nationals were hearing offers or hearing on offers, uh, for Curtis Mead.

But Curtis Mead gets traded, uh, I think it was this, this happened last night, right? Curtis Mead for-

Late last night.

Yeah, for-

Like 11 something last night, 'cause, uh, I woke up to the news and I was up till 11 last night.

Uh, so Curtis Mead traded to the Boston Red Sox for Conley Early.

Um, this feels like... [clears throat] Excuse me.

[clears throat] Uh, this feels like two teams that, uh, are trying to sell high on two guys.

And I don't know which one's actually selling high.

[laughs]

Uh, but what were your kind of initial thoughts after this trade?

My...

I f- I find this deal to be fascinating because if this is the market...

And let's, let's go back four i- four months ago, Curtis Mead was a waiver wire claim.

Yeah.

The White Sox had dumped him, and the Nationals had picked him up.

Four months ago.

Look how much has changed in four months.

The fact, like it used to be back in the day that if you had a young controllable left-handed starting pitcher, he wasn't getting dealt.
