Ryan Jeffers

Um, let's see.

Ryan Jeffers, uh, they've been leaning into him behind the plate.

He started nine consecutive games at catcher, uh, before Caratini finally started a, a day game here on this road trip Um, that is something that Ryan Jeffers has been sort of pleading for over the years.

Uh, t- maybe not nine straight starts.

[laughs] That's pretty crazy for any catcher.

Okay?

Of course.

Ryan Jeffers being lost for two months right in the middle of the season was also massive.

Lucas Hall has been able to give you about a 370 on-On base.

Ryan Jeffers has been a guy that has been able to find a way on as well.

And for Todd Bradley, I do think that he goes out there, gives you a really nice start, and I do think that with the way that the Guardians are improved with their lineup, you get just enough for the over.

And for the Guardians, they have been a little bit intermittent with their bullpen here.

But, yeah, but yeah, more broadly, yeah.

Like, a, if, if you had a 15 or $20 million chunk, well, the first thing I would do is probably go to Ryan Jeffers, quite frankly, and say, "Do you want it? You're 29 years old still." And we can talk about these guys in the pipeline who are, yeah, shortstop, catcher.

Those guys don't exist yet.

Those are, those are, like, theories right now.

But they would have had to trade him early because he started getting hurt.

And certainly not trading Ryan Jeffers was a mistake.

So unless you think you can get him for $40 million for two years or something.

Finally, football season is back.

But more broadly, yeah.

If you had a $15 or $20 million chunk, well, the first thing I would do is probably go to Ryan Jeffers, quite frankly, and say, do you want it? You're 29 years old still.

As we sit here on this Friday morning, uh, I look at Ryan Jeffers, n- not because I don't think he should be on the team, but because he, a lot of people are gonna want him on their team [laughs] and he's a free agent.

O- odds are.

That's not a Twins issue.

Mm-hmm.

And I, I kinda think when you look at that, you, like, you're overlooking Ryan Jeffers being consistent, especially the last two years.

You know, like Luke Keyshol's on the other side of the ledger.

When you saw on CBS Sports.

that Ryan Jeffers was mentioned as a potential free agent target, what's the first thing that goes through your mind?

I was shocked.

Yeah, I mean, he's the top free agent catcher this year.

I think that's what is still to be determined because I think the biggest question How far away is Alfred Duneau? And is he really the catcher of the future for this Reds organization? If he's only a year away, I don't know if, does Jeffers make a ton of sense? Because I would imagine he's looking for a pretty substantial contract, especially years-wise.

Well, I

think a bigger question I'd propose is, is Ryan Jeffers better than Tyler Stevenson? I'm not so sure.

He has been this year.

I am in an insane fantasy baseball battle, and I happen to have Ryan Jeffers on my fantasy baseball team.

I'm putting all my eggs in one basket, and I am picking Ryan Jeffers.

Nobody cares.
