And there's only one place in the four Gospels where we are told that our Lord rejoiced.

According to St. Luke, he rejoiced in the Holy Ghost and said, I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth.

because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them to little ones.

Our Lord had told his disciples to take him at his word, that if they did, they would be able to do the things that he had done.

And against the advice of the wise and prudent, they did take him at his word and worked the same wonders that he himself had done and brought joy to his heart.

That Saint Abel, the son of Saint Adam and Saint Eve, lived at the foundation of the world.

The time between creation and the flood, and the time between the flood and Abraham.

And guess what? These happen to be the only genealogies that have chronological information.

Even honest secular scholars admit, with Dr. James Barr, Regis Professor of Hebrew at Oxford University, that there is no professor of Hebrew or Old Testament, as far as he knows, at any world-class university who does not believe that the author or authors of Genesis 1 to 11 intended to convey to their readers the ideas that creation took place in a series of six days, which were the same as the days of 24 hours we now experience, and that the figures contained in the Genesis chronologies provide by simple addition of chronology from the beginning of the world up to later stages in the biblical story.
