Erik MillerGuestGordoHostPatHostBig shout out to Eric Miller making the play testy debut and a really good interview.
I was surprised.
Asking him about what's something you're terrible at.
And he says public speaking.
And I get it.
There's not an audience of people standing out there right in front of you listening to what you're saying.
But you do have the same kind of understanding.
And as someone who does podcasting, yes.
doing the podcast here in front of my microphone in front of the computer for instance like with the live show at game on that happened a couple weeks ago it's definitely a different experience when the people are right there and listening but sitting here with a microphone i do understand that there are going to be a bunch of people that hear what i have to say and like i don't know maybe when you're doing an interview your baseball player don't really think like that you just kind of do but i thought he was good i thought his hands like maybe he's like a little bit of a soft-spoken guy in terms of the volume but his answers are like he put they're well thought out they're not quick answers they're not just get through it answers like he he put thought into what he had to say and and he was willing to say a lot of stuff which was great like it was a good interview
yeah and i think that was like the my biggest takeaway was like he was like oh i'm not good at public speaking blah blah and he's not like soft-spoken in the fact where he's like shy or like it's just like keeps it short and concise he had like really good elaborate answers and the nice thing was like as we went he got like more and more
like not reckless but he like
he definitely like took the guards down a little bit and then definitely was like way more you know not traditional like media answer he kind of like let some personality show which was cool to see
yeah i mean you like the very last question the rapid fires right pretty sure it's the last one it's like what's some what's a pet peeve when you're on the mound and like i he didn't say the name specifically but i think we all know he's talking about about caballero there which is great a great answer because so so many times like the the uh The pet peeve question can kind of catch a deer in the headlights if you're not ready for it.
I always forget.
I want to prep guys like, hey, we're going to ask this, and I always forget to.
We had Brenly on last week, and I know I have good answers for this, but it's not coming to the top of my mind right now.
Eric Miller had an answer for it, and I love that he was – because it's like he talked about it.
He's never pitched at Yankee Stadium, but here he is, a big part of this Red Sox-Yankee rivalry that we know is about to come to a head here at the end of September.
And, I mean, I love it.
I think that's awesome.
Yeah, and like it's funny too because – he would have been like one of the last people I think where I would have been like, he might throw it like to peg him to throw a shot or like to kind of like throw shade at somebody like pet peeve.
Like Bradley was a got bad drivers.
Like that was kind of like the category.
I thought that Eric Miller was going to kind of, you know, fall into a little bit.
