But yeah, so definitely around the schoolyard, you'd be like, I'd be sharing that.

And then other kids were like, wait, wait, I heard about this.

I bet

Bobby in the, like, late 90s, early 2000s era, I bet his AOL away messages went hard.

Oh, I bet.

Yeah.

information is being exchanged up and down in a cellular network all the time.

And while we don't know that, because we don't hear it, if you remember back in the dial-up modem days where you'd log on to AOL and we'd go, that is a modem basically going back and forth, training itself until it fully synchronizes, and then it sits in that synchronization until it loses it, right? So you can think of that happening all the time inside a cellular network.

And it's that information that's already being exchanged all the time that also informs our USM.

So we take that information and we establish what's known as channel state.

What can we do? And so I, I was like barely internet back then.

And so I was in the basement on AOL looking up how to help in Oklahoma, right? With that AOL sound.

Remember that noise that it made? And so I found all these places that were showing up and helping.

And so I stood up in church on Sunday morning and said, I'm going to take a group to Oklahoma to help with the tornadoes.

The reporting takes a little bit of time, but Gmail makes it very, if it's a Gmail account, Gmail makes it really, really easy.

In fact, so I write fiction under a pen name and that pen name has now been targeted by a quote unquote publisher who wrote from an AOL account.

So now they're like, they're getting desperate.

They're going back to AOL.

That's wild.

Isn't that wild? So I'm following this down the rabbit hole just to kind of see what they want, because the first ask was not send us money to publish your book.

The first ask seemed to actually, aside from the AOL email address for a major publishing house, seemed actually fairly legitimate.

So I want to, we'll keep updating you.

How about that? AOL was doing interviews in 2007.

They talked about the name.

Kevin Shields said that their old singer Dave suggested it.

Yeah, exactly.

Google originally, if anyone was around on the web in 1999, there was this battle of the portals where you had Yahoo and AOL and they were fighting to be the one-stop shop for the whole web.

People didn't like that.

Google came in and said, we're just going to give you a simple, clean search engine, 10 blue links.

I actually didn't.

I did not have AOL.

So I didn't have a screen name.

So I didn't have what I know.
