So we're going to do something a little different this time.
You're the first person we've had from law enforcement or former law enforcement that come on the show.
And, you know, we want to kind of get your insight to what the outside perspective is or law enforcement perspective is on motorcycle clubs.
But also, you know, we want to kind of hear like where you're coming from.
And we wanted to show some of these similarities.
And so just to get started, what was like growing up for you and what was kind of life like in the early years?
I'm a California kid, born in 1974, lived in California up until 84 when my dad took a job.
My dad was, I come from a family of law enforcement, but really I'm the only one that stayed in long enough to retire.
The It was a defense attorney who got the judge position, and she hated my uncle, so out the door he went.
I had another uncle who was a police officer for a few years, and my dad was a police officer for a few years, and he was also doing animal control at the time.
And in Southern California, your animal control officers were actually sworn peace officers.
So he went through, at the time that he was in animal control, they were sworn peace officers.
So he actually switched over because he was working part-time for two different law enforcement agencies.
He took that position, never went back fully into law enforcement, but he worked his way up to the equivalent of what would be a chief of police.
And so in 1984, he took a position with Salt Lake City here in Utah as the director of animal control.
