Move up north, up, up, up, then you get to Orange County.

You get to Huntington Beach.

Do you know what's going on in Huntington Beach? It's one of the few Republican, uh, cities in there.

They're banning a bunch of the woke bullshit in Huntington Beach, which is not surprising if you...

You know, if you, if you're familiar with Orange County, y- Huntington Beaches has always been that way.

Scariest bar I ever went to was in Huntington Beach [laughs].

It was to see Sublime play, by the way, uh, on a side note.

Yeah, saw Sublime play live back when Bradley was alive, uh, in Huntington Beach.

It was Nexus.

We were coming home from Huntington Beach.

Arthur Adams mentions, on a different podcast, he mentions it today on my podcast.

Well, I brought it up 'cause I'm like, "That's the store I went to." Uh, they had the best selection of, of, of, uh, of comics there called Land of Ooze and Oz in Fountain Valley, right before Fountain Valley turns into Huntington Beach.

And on Beach Boulevard, if you keep driving, you're gonna go straight into the ocean.

Um, 'cause you're-- Like, like Huntington B- Beach Boulevard, you are hitting the beach.

We all would drive up to the school, Mount San Antonio College.

So we lived at Huntington Beach.

And then it's about 45 minutes up.

I guess you would say, like if we're looking at like the United States, it's northeast a little bit.

mom's living in Charleston at this point,

right? This is in California, Huntington Beach.

So we're literally coast to coast.

And I am in sunny Southern California, LA area.

I put my... feet in the Pacific Ocean a little bit ago at Huntington Beach.

So doing some meetings out here this week.

But still happy to be a part of the Kind of Fast podcast.

68 degrees 73 in Palmdale and along our coast.

We still have some spots that haven't fully cleared out yet, but we have some other coastal spots like Long Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, where now we're looking at clear conditions in the mid-70s.

72, very thick marine layer in places like Redondo Beach and Oxnard, 71 degrees now.

So what we can expect, an area of low pressure from the Pacific Northwest has been bringing us some nice, cooler temperatures that was much needed these last few days.

council wanted it in 2028

so these this special election it was brought forth by the newport beach stewardship association they've got measures that are going to be on this special ballot they're rather innocuous uh council term limits uh how the the seven council districts are elected and then oversight of the public meetings and records so this is really wonky stuff the kind of stuff you love but nothing nothing real sexy here The issue, however, and I saw this in Huntington Beach, too.

The issue is the city wants one thing.

And the judge says, no.

We will not put together an outline of how we're going to proceed if things don't go our way in court.

And then if they don't go our way in court, we can just plead that we don't have enough time.

And that's exactly what Huntington Beach did when, and we had the story earlier this week, I think, right? Because remember the courts told Huntington Beach, you have to put together a plan for housing.

And Huntington Beach for six years has fought that.

We primarily work to move California towards a circular economy where products and materials are kept in use for as long as possible, and also to encourage producers of those products to be responsible or more responsible for their product's end of life.

So CPSC, we started working on this topic with a pilot project with Huntington Beach to collect marine flares from their boating community.

And that pilot project really worked well with CPSC and our focus.

because the collection event not only helped us to obviously prevent environmental harm and improved the material management for a hazardous material, but it also really gave us the chance to educate that public on marine flare disposal, some of the issues that Vivian just talked about, and also to promote like a safer alternative, those being the electronic battery operated flares.
