Her mother, Ethel, died on February 14, 1976, and everybody noticed when Mary showed up to the funeral in jeans and a denim jacket.

Once her mother was in the ground, Mary hooked up with the Hells Angels motorcycle gang and her life continued on a downward spiral.

Mary jumped up half-naked and ran outside to save her dog.

And they were big in the Philly crime scene at that period of time as basically their version of the Hells Angels.

An early morning fire at a Hells Angels retail store is still under investigation.

And so now those are big distribution hubs, like in California, you know, San Bernardino, those little places, Fontana.

My dad, my uncles were part of a group called the Stormtroopers, a local biker gang.

And I guess their claim to fame is pushing back the Hells Angels when they come into town.

And, you know, I guess everyone from Auckland or South, you know, they know about the Stormtroopers and that sort of thing.

The identity I grew up with and my uncles and brothers grew up with is that we're strong and we're capable of doing violence if needed, you know? Um, so I guess that sort of set the bar for myself growing up of what a man looks like, how he sort of handles himself, what his presence feels like, looks like.

And it didn't start off as a gang.

It was just, you know, family groups and things like that, that eventually turned into, uh, more or less a gang.

And it, you know, in South Auckland, things like that, they're, they're still looked upon even back then as, as saviors of the place because, you know, they, the Hells Angels tried to come in, tried to take over the town, tried to get their stuff.

There was a time when Sam rode a sizable American-made motorcycle as a drug-addicted member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

Their nemesis club was Hell's Angels, and outlaws liked to say adios, which stood for angels die in outlaw states.

Later, after Sam became a Christian, he rode in a Land Cruiser, carried an AK-47, and fought to protect women and children in South Sudan.
