Well, two weeks ago I made a major announcement.

I announced that we're buying several acres from the Circle of Care, including their gymnasium in the pond and of course a few other things over there.

And we're going to be building a family life center.

I also told you that we will not be doing a building campaign.

And we're not going to ask you to pledge money above and beyond your tithe to fund our building project.

Instead, we want you to just keep doing what you're doing.

In other words, just keep tithing.

But in preparing last week's sermon, I realized that some of you had never been taught on the subject of tithing.

And I get that.

Most pastors don't want to teach on it, and I don't like teaching on it.

In fact, I haven't taught on tithing, with the exception of last week, since 2008.

18 years.

So I taught on tithing last week, and I'm going to do one more sermon on tithing, maybe two.

I'm not going to be teaching next Sunday.

I'm taking off.

I got a vacation, but more importantly, I have some health issues I'm going to be taking care of.

But anyways, I'm going to do maybe one more sermon on tithing.

But I promise you, But if I do one more sermon on tithing, I'm not going to try and manipulate you to give more money to the church.

I just want you to understand the concept of tithing, but more importantly, why God wants you to tithe.

We're going to find out God does not need your money because he owns everything.

So why would God want us to tithe? Well, we're going to find that out.

Sound good? Good.

So let's begin with the principle of divine ownership.

The principle of divine ownership states that God owns everything.

And when I say everything, I mean everything.
