All right, particulars now out of the way.
There was a couple of interesting news stories.
The big one, this is kind of a surprise, actually.
Fernando Alonso is put to bed to speculation over his future, at least in terms of next season.
He is exercising an option on his contract that will extend it into 2027.
Obviously, we know the trials and tribulations of Fernando Alonso this year in the Aston Martin.
It got so bad that he apparently it's come out that he self-retired the car during the Azerbaijan GP because he was losing a tenth, a second and a tenth on the straight, he said.
And I will not no longer race like this.
So but apparently he's sticking around for a little longer.
Cody, my man, is this surprising or is this Fernando just trying to hang on?
Oh, man, I think it's him maybe gripping to the last little dregs of hope that he might somehow get a competitive car out of this Aston Martin super team for next year.
I don't see it happening, but, you know, he's got that room to do that on his contract.
And he obviously feels like he's got at least one more year left in him.
So why not? I'm happy to see him stick around, and I, for one, really hope that he does get a better car for next year.
Yeah, I mean, he's almost got nothing to lose, really.
I mean, he's got a guaranteed seat.
He's going to make the money that he makes, which is more than enough for him and his family and four generations of Alonzos to come afterwards.
Yeah.
So that's not even...
I don't think that's an issue.
I don't think he needs the money.
I think he would be bored if he wasn't doing Formula One.
And I think he wants to try so hard to get back into a competitive nature one last time.
It's why he came back.
