Who do you want to see the Cubs go after before the 5 p.m. Central deadline here? They have been included in so many different trades so far.

Corey, let's start with you here.

What has excited you most in regards to the Chicago Cubs on deadline day?

Yeah, I think Gosman was the satisfying one, right? I was a big Robbie Ray guy going into the deadline.

Obviously, an expiring contract would have been a bit of a steep pay, but you already have a couple southpaws healthy in the rotation.

So I'm glad they got Gosman.

You have a guy with over 2,000 career strikeouts, 2,000 career innings, and I know they're not playing great baseball right now in Toronto but people shouldn't forget he was on almost a World Series winning team last year so anytime you have someone who's been in those high leverage situations I think you should be pretty excited about it uh in general I'm not a huge prospect hugger but if there's one guy I don't want to see go and I'm glad I haven't seen his name pop up on my screen yet I don't want Josiah hardshore and going anywhere so that has me excited that he's still a cub right now with an hour 54 to go.

Anytime you have a switch hitting powerful, pretty good play discipline to outfielder with the knowledge that say and Ian Happ are both on expiring deals.

I want him in my big league outfield in a couple of years and hopefully for years beyond that.

So happy about Gosman, hoping I don't see Josiah pop up in any deals here.

Hey, you brought up Kevin Gossman.

He just seems like such a prototype that people get very excited for at the MLB trade deadline.

You know, a veteran who's been there, who's shown some really good stuff in playoff races.

I am a writer for Twins Daily, and I was really hoping that he could maybe be shipped off to Minnesota.

What specifically excites you about Gossman and the addition to this Chicago Cubs team?

Yeah, he's steady.

You know, on the surface level, you see he only has three pitches.

Used to have four and kind of took the change up out of it.

But he has an above average extension.

So even though that fastball only comes in at like 94, looks a little better than that.

I think what excites me most about him is you see a 35-year-old starter and you go, okay, he might be over the hill.
