Season 4, Episode 16: Wild Card Series Recap

Hello, hello, and welcome to a postseason edition of the New York Yankees official podcast.

She is the S Network's Meredith Marakovits.

I am Yankees Magazine's Jon Schwartz.

We are both exhausted.

We are both probably still smelling a little bit like champagne, but it's a good time to be a Yankees fan because they're moving on.

ALDS, here they come.

Yes, they are indeed.

And they're not just moving on, Jon.

They handily beat the Red Sox, outscoring them 18 to two, and I think the thing that stood out to me about that series...

Look, you thought the starting pitching was gonna be there because we've seen that all season long.

But some of the way they manufactured runs and some of the at bats were much better than we've consistently seen throughout the season.

So I think there are reasons to be encouraged when you look at this Yankees team.

The fact that they were able to put up runs without Aaron Judge, while Stanton was on the roster, was not used in that series.

Ben Rice, Cody Bellinger, big, big, big outings out of them in the first two games, and some other guys too.

We will talk about all this stuff.

A little bit of housekeeping first.

As you're seeing right now, we are here weekly during the postseason.

As long as the Yankees play, we're here with you.

We will come to you every week, usually around Thursdays, but it will depend on obviously how, how things go.

Of course, we wanna hear from you.
