Gerrit Cole

Garrett Cole will go in, I believe it's Game 3, and then Cam will be in Game 4.

Eric Cole bounced back with a nice start against the D-backs in Arizona.

It was a night game.

We've talked about how Cole's a vampire.

That's absolutely 100% on the table.

But so is two straight wins and throwing Gary Cole in game one against the Rays in the DS.

That's on the table too.

It's absolutely on the table.

I think that's just the bottom line.

And to me, throwing 99 means I trust him.

Now, yeah, 99 straight, well, we've seen Gary Cole pitch for a long time.

The fastball typically isn't that straight.

Oh, this is the worst question.

Um, [sighs] I will say that I th- and this is probably, like, my living in New York bias now, I think it's, if, if Aaron Judge is h- healthy, which is a big if at this point, I think that the Yankees between having Gerrit Cole back now, who's been pitching pretty well, Cam Schlitter, our, our local Boston guy.

Gerrit Cole bounced back at the Dbacks.

Six innings, two runs, six strikeouts to zero walks.

It, it's pretty, uh, astounding to me that Gerrit Cole has managed a K rate- Over a strikeout per inning, while his swinging strike rate is just as bad as it is.

I mean, it is now d- down below 10%.

It is 9.8% on the season, so that is pretty bad.

He is 76% started, and he gets the Rays this week, Scott.

Starter, sit, Gerrit Cole?

You could have these guys throw simulated games behind the scenes to get their work in.

I just, I don't know what it does for anybody to have Cam Schlittler go, to have, uh, Gerrit Cole go.

Why let these Rays bats see these guys one more time?

They're, they know.

But again, a good start here against the Rangers.

Probable start tier, it's Gerrit Cole against the Rays, Connor Prulep against the Giants, Walbert Ureña against the Athletics.

Uh, and sorry, in Sacramento I should point out.

And then Kevin Gausman against the Marlins.

Cole makes sense.

Gerrit Cole, even though it's a tough match up.

Connor Prulep Last outing was a good one against the Angels.

Now he gets another pretty easy match up against the Giants.

And let's not forget, His ERA in the second half, you know, he had those two starts that were not good against the Padres and then against the Mets.

But in the second half, Gary Cole, I believe in 12 starts, has a 3-3-6 ERA.

Gary Cole has been pitching very, very well.

And I would be remiss not to mention it did contribute to our narrative that it was during the nighttime where Garrett Cole has pitched well all season long.

Night starts this year, 15 starts during night games, 3-1-8 ERA for Cole.

He missed wildly on that location to Carroll, and Carroll took him deep.

But other than that, it was another really good performance that we've come accustomed to with Gary Cole here after the Tommy John surgery.

So I think if you want to take any silver linings out of this is that I don't know that we're worrying about Gary Cole anymore.

Yeah, I hope not.
