AT&T

The wireless business contributes nearly 70% of AT&T's revenue. The company is the third-largest US wireless carrier, connecting 74 million postpaid and 17 million prepaid phone customers. Fixed-line enterprise services, which account for about 14% of revenue, include internet access, private networking, security, voice, and wholesale network capacity. Residential fixed-line services, about 12% of revenue, primarily consist of broadband internet access, serving 15 million customers. AT&T also has a sizable presence in Mexico, with 24 million customers, but this business only accounts for 3% of revenue. The company recently sold its 70% equity stake in satellite television provider DirecTV to its partner, private equity firm TPG.www.att.com

Todd Glick Jr.HOST
44:38
You have all these Teslas help build to your network.
Todd Glick Jr.HOST
44:40
You already got your satellites, which helps give you connectivity pretty much anywhere, even when you're in the middle of Sabino Canyon, right? All of a sudden, yeah, maybe I don't want to be with Verizon or AT&T because I got the best network with SpaceX.
Todd Glick Jr.HOST
44:52
And then where to go into SpaceX that helps them fund their next level of space explorations that they need to be doing.

I was executive VP and We were helping AT&T through their divestiture back in the 80s, and it really gave me a glaring example of what bad leadership is and the results of that bad leadership.
Ron StottsGUEST

So it's just been an ongoing learning experience.
Ron StottsGUEST
6:28
Even now, of course, working with amazing leaders from throughout the world, I'm still honing what I recognize is true leadership.

But I think, I think about like traditional big bar, you know, AT&T being one of the most indebted companies on earth.
Josh FinelliHOST
68:03
And you know, SpaceX is, I'm surprised AT&T and Verizon aren't down significantly more than they are thinking about how the potential for SpaceX to disrupt the existing sort of telecom space and it's everyone have a space phone in their hand but that These huge traditional borrowers are gonna be refining at Dramatically higher rates in my estimation, right?

I think Randy came in as a person who really had not grown up in the industry.

His career had been at AT&T.
John LechleiterGUEST

David FaberHOST
38:34
Yeah, sure, they could just buy all of them.
David FaberHOST

David FaberHOST

Jim CramerHOST
32:22
I just say, listen, why do I want to be in Verizon? Why do I want to be in
David FaberHOST
32:25
AT&T? You're not alone because, I mean, basically the owners of all three of the majors, Timo, AT&T, and Verizon, have been selling the shares as the competitive threat from Starlink has continued to grow.
